What are Benefits of Lucid Dreaming?
What are benefits of lucid dreaming? Lucid dreaming is when you are the creator of your dream world. You can literally do anything you want while dreaming in this state. If you want to check out another country, you can do this or say you want to fly to that country without an airplane, you can do this too. This is such an important concept to explore, as you can begin to understand the power of the mind. Once you understand this, you can apply this understanding to your waking life in so many ways.
How to Get Started Lucid Dreaming?
We dream every night whether we remember our dreams or not. To remember your dreams, you must set the intention by silently saying to yourself that you are going to remember your dreams before you drift off to sleep. You must get in the habit of doing this daily right before you fall asleep. The process will start off slowly but with persistence you will be on the right track to lucid dreams. Make sure you are in a sober state of mind when going to sleep so your mind is clear. It is also helpful to complete a meditation of about 5-15 minutes prior to sleep to calm your mind and slow down your thoughts.
Upon Waking Up
When you wake up, do not get out of bed right away, get on your phone, or start thinking of everything you need to get done for the day. You want to see if you can recall your dream or at least small parts of the dream. Once you recall parts of the dream, jot this down in a journal. From the parts you remember, ask yourself if you can recall what led you to that part of the dream. If you remember any parts of the dream later in the day, be sure you jot this down right away too as this is important. By doing this, you are becoming more aware of your dreams, and you will start to remember more and more as you are improving your dream state. This will slowly become easier to do.
Improving Your Awareness
Furthermore, working on your awareness is a must. You need to do this while you are in a waking state and in a sleeping state. Meaning, whatever activity you are doing during the day, ask yourself am I awake or dreaming. The idea is, by doing this several times a day, it makes it easier to do this while you are in a dream state. Once you can do this in a dream, you can begin to create your dreams. When you find yourself answering this question while you are in a dream, see if you can do an impossible task. For example, see if you can walk through a wall, a tree or anything else present in your dream.
